Anita Hashemi Moghadam (b. 1982) is a visual artist based in Iran. She received her BFA in Graphic Design from Soore University, Tehran, and her MFA in Illustration from Azad University, Tehran.
Anita has given courses at Farhang Va Honar University for almost ten years and is currently teaching at Soore University. She has also collaborated with various magazines and publications as an illustrator and graphic designer.
During her artistic career, she has taken classes under art professors, such as Bijan Sayfouri, Hossein Maher, and Pooya Aryanpour, and her design and illustration works have been showcased in various domestic and foreign exhibitions, for some of which she has received awards.
Her video artworks and installations has been included in numerous group exhibitions. She held her first solo show in 2021 entitled “Epidermis” at Vali Art Gallery and her second solo show in 2024 entitled “Living Creature” at Soo contemporary art gallery.
Anita represents her approach to her personal experiences through video art, installation, and photography. She believes that no matter how personal these experiences were, they have a social aspect that make the audience relate to and identify with them, since every space in which she has lived, with all the wounds, injuries, as well as both good and bad moments, have an exterior that, despite their differences, are familiar to the viewers of her works, which is what connects Anita to her audience.
